Wo bu yao! (I don't want!)

I first heard Baby said "Wo bu yao!" (I don't want) during our Christmas dinner on 23-Dec-13. Told sandbox about it but he just said it could be a coincident, something sounded similar.

Today, sandbox & I bought Baby to walk around the mall. There were Christmas Themed Balloon Exhibition for photo shooting. We tried to take photo carrying him, and he shouted "Wo bu yao! Wo bu yao!" and tried to get down to touch the balloons.

So, it's confirmed that he really meant he didn't want to have a piece of my Grilled Chicken with Mushroom Sauce the other night.

First Travel on Plane

Backdated post:
We brought Baby to my sis's wedding in Kuantan last month. Baby had his first flying experience. He was on his pacifier during take off and landing to prevent any ear pain due to the change of pressure. sandbox, my mum and I were sitting in a row and we managed to keep him entertained throughout the journey on the plane. He flipped through the magazine and we introduced the airplane to him by pointing at the picture. He tried to pronounce "Fei Ji' with his cute voice. When he got restless, our final solution was to let him watch Despicable Me using our Note2.

16 months

My baby has become a toddler now. He can walk by himself around the room. If he got hold of your hand, he will rush for the stairs, saying "Up! Up!". He will do the same at the elevator in shopping malls.

He loves cartoon, and will tell you "cartoon" when he wanna watch. But he don't watch just any cartoon. He only watch Despicable Me. And we have accompanied him through it N times, until he knows when Kyle will bite Gru's hand, when Miss Hattie will scold the gals and so on. He will shake his hand when Gru got bitten, and show you a stern face when the gals got scolded. We bought him some stickers and the McD figurine of Minions. The name he gave the Minions is "BaBaBa". Just until lately, he started to watch Hotel Transylvania.Dancing and singing seem to be of his interest too. His favourite dance song is Big Bang's Fantastic Baby. You will receive a big smile from him if you play his favourite song.

By now, Baby has about 10 hard board books on the shelf at the same level reachable for him. He can identify a few objects in the book and tell you the name. He enjoyed flipping through the book himself. sandbox bought him a Fisher Price Shape Sorter Bucket. He can put in the circles & squares, but not the stars and cross yet.

Playing ball is his favourite sport. He can throw the ball to you and expect you to throw it back and play catch with him. He loves going to the basketball court near sandbox's house. He even wants to go in the court and play with the adults.

We have been trying to brush his teeth, but still failed. I bought a training tooth paste for him, but he ate it twice, so I stopped applying it on the tooth brush for now. He already had most of his teeth grown, I am really worried of him getting tooth decay.

The Taska told us to stop bringing him porridge one month ago. The teacher said he was unhappy when other kids were having rice from the Taska but he alone had to take porridge. So, he started to take rice with soup in the Taska both morning & afternoon. As for milk, he drinks Abbott Gain Plus Eye Q Step 3, 6 Oz 3 scoops per serving, 4 servings per day.

Some words that he speaks:
Ya Ya - sandbox's dad
Po Po - my mum
Gong Gong - my dad
Daddy - sandbox
Guk Guk - sandbox's brother & my brother (supposed to be Shu Shu & Jiu Jiu)
Ma Ma - me (so far he only called me once)
Suo Shi - Key
Star
Er-la - Umbrella
Xia Yu - Raining
Apple
Ball
Dog dog
Bao - Cat (supposed to be Mao)
Bao Bao - hug

Weight: ~12kg

14 months

Baby is more than 1 year old already =)

He is now able to walk with assistance, either by holding on to furniture or someone's hands. He can walk upright by pushing his Fisher Price Lion. When there is nothing to hold on to, he crawls, real fast. Staircase is his favorite whereby he can climb up and down N times till the person assisting him surrender.

He can get himself down from our bed, by holding on to the mattress face down and slide slowly down to the floor. After he gets down, he will crawl to cupboards, bookshelf or wardrobe drawers and start taking out all the stuff reachable to play. He likes reading books, or more to flipping through books. But he tends to tear pages, so we had to buy him hard board books.

Previously he only knows how to shake his head. Now sandbox has managed to teach him to nod. When we ask him to do Gong Xi Gong Xi, he will put his hands together and move up and down. When we compliment him of being so clever, he will be so happy and clap his hands. The latest trick of his is holding his palm up with an 'o' shape mouth, indicating "finish / no more", which brings us all ROFL.

Whenever we drive him to my in-law's house, he will straight away recognize the neighbourhood and tell us "gung" or "ra-ra". Yes, he calls my dad-in-law "ra-ra" because he still cannot pronounce "ya-ya" right.
I tried to teach him to say "mama", but he will throw me back with "papa", this cheeky baby.

Every morning, he still eat the porridge I prepared for him to Taska and some fruits. In the afternoon, the Taska had stopped giving him cereal and replaced with rice + soup. He will then eat a small bowl of rice with soup at my in-law's house in the evening, followed by some fruits again. He is drinking Abbott Gain Plus Eye Q Step 3, 6 Oz 3 scoops per serving,  4 to 5 times a day.

11 months ++

Baby finally got his first JE jab early May. He weights about 10.21kg.

He started to understand some instructions:
1) 跳舞 Dancing - He will shake his head and body when we ask him to dance or when he heard some musics with strong beats. He also dance when he is happy or when we feed him something to eat. Sometimes he will sway his body left and right when he heard some nice musics. He responds tremendously to Psy's Gentlemen.
2) 拍手 Clap hand - He claps
3) Bye bye - He will open and close his hand. He will do the same action when we sing twinkle star.
4) 打球 Play ball- He will tell u "gung". We heard him saying "da gung" the other day, which brought us ROFL.
5) Where's mummy? - He will look at me
6) Where's daddy? - He will look at sandbox
7) He will say mum mum if we have food to feed him
8) He know he is forbidden to do something when we say 'no', but he is one ignorant baby =.=|"

We switched his milk powder from Similac Step 1 to Gain Plus Eye Q Step 3 after his lunar birthday. Still drinking 6 oz of milk, 4 to 5 times per day. He has 8 teeth (4 top & 4 bottom). We cook him vege + mince pork porridge everyday using a slow cooker. The variety of vegetables & fruits we gave him are broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, pumpkin, brussel sprout, potatoes, tomatoes, papaya, grapes, apple, pear.

With his new acquired crawling skill, he now refuses to stay on the bed and prefers to crawl on the floor, exploring here and there. Everyone is complaining that it is difficult to take care of him nowadays. Whenever he is trapped in his baby cot for too long, he will start to cry and ask to be carried. He is one short-tempered baby, with very little patience on everything. Daddy & Mummy will have to do further research on solving this number one weakness of Baby.

10 months

The injection medicine was still out of stock, so my parents-in-law did not bring baby to the clinic this month.
He has 6 teeth so far (2 bottom and 4 at the top). His favourite sports is basketball, which we later found out that the "gung" sound he made refers to the sound of the basketball bouncing off the floor.

We started letting him to sit in the baby walker last month. He will cruise to the FisherPrice Stride-to-Ride Lion and press its nose to listen to the music. Waving both arms excitedly, he will dance to the music sitting down.

Just 2 days ago, he learnt how to wave good bye when I drove out to work in the morning.
He loves listening to lively music and will move his hands up and down by the wrist when sandbox play B1A4's Dancing in the Moonlight. As for the "Gwiyomi - Cute Song", we can repeat it over and over early in the morning when sandbox and I are busy preparing for work, and he will sit in his baby cot enjoying the song.

9 months

Weight: 10.2kg
Length: 75cm

My parents-in-law brought baby to the clinic for injection early this month. But the medicine was out of stock. So, his vaccination plan was delayed until further notice.

Feeding: 6oz water with 3 scoops of milk powder 4 hourly. We switch back to Similac Stage 1, and mix occasionally with 1 scoop of Stage 2. We bought a slow cooker to cook him porridge. He can chew tiny, soft food with his 5 teeth (2 bottom and 3 at the top). He likes to eat cereal. Tried all sorts of variations such as oat with peach, wheat with ikan bilis, oat+wheat+prunes.

Sleep: Average sleeping time is 9pm~7am with once or totally no night feeding. Sometimes he sleeps at 6pm when he is too tired. When he is too energetic and wants to play, Sandbox and I will have a difficult time to make him sleep.

Physical Skills: He can sit upright from lying down and pull himself up to stand in his baby cot. We have lowered down the baby cot to the max. Bumps here and there are unavoidable as sometimes he lost his balance.

Talking: Da da di di, gung.

First Tooth

The Taska told us Baby has a tooth at the lower center of his gum last week. We could not see it at first. But he likes to bring our finger into his mouth to bite. And we felt his first tooth!

Commented by Sandbox this week, Baby's first tooth is getting sharp and he felt more pain when Baby bit his finger. =p

Baby's drooling has reduced greatly compared to the last 2 months.

7 months

No clinic visit this month, so we did not know his length and weight progress.

Feeding: We gave him Similac Stage 1 at home while the nursery gave him Stage 2. He needs a lot of water to prevent constipation. He finished a small tin of rice cereal and proceed with the mix vege + rice cereal packet.

Physical Skill: He starts to sit with assistance at first. Gradually he can maintain in a sitting position for a short time before toppling to the side. He can stand on our laps when we held him up.

Behaviour: This is one baby who loves lots of company. He hates being alone and staying in the bedroom for too long. He likes outing very much. He allows strangers to carry him, but sometimes he will burst into tears with a high pitched cry.
